Hey… here is a little about me

Drew Barragan

  • I've been a licensed REALTOR® since 2005, heading into year 21 in this business. Along the way, I've helped more than 600 families buy and sell homes and landed in the top 20% of producers for five years running.
  • I hold my active license with The Kerzanet Group, a boutique brokerage led by Tracy Kerzanet — a true rock star and top producer in this market. It's the right home for the kind of business I've built: relationships first, local knowledge always, and doing right by the people I serve.
  • My roots in this industry run deep. I was born and raised in Indiana, where my dad built his own construction business from the ground up. I grew up around job sites, rental properties, home flips, and the family business of property management and commercial real estate. I bleed real estate — it's genuinely all I've ever known.
  • That background shapes how I work. I meet buyers and sellers where they are and give it to them straight — an honest, authentic read on the market, not a sales pitch. I'm direct, detail-oriented, and a little relentless about clear communication, good news or hard news.
  • I've called Richmond home for 13+ years and know these communities inside and out. Whether you're buying your first home, selling into your next chapter, or investing, I bring local knowledge, two decades of experience, and a no-fluff approach to every transaction.
  • Outside of work, you'll find me hunting for my next investment property (relaxing isn't really my strong suit), traveling when I can, or winding down with a good whiskey or red wine. I'm married to my husband Ignacio, and together we're raising our daughter Emma, now 21, and our two dogs, Chloe and Levi, who are convinced they run the household. I also carry the memory of my late wife Kimberley with me every day — she passed away in 2022 from breast cancer, and I like to think she's still keeping an eye on this next chapter.

I grew up in the Midwest

I grew up in the Midwest in Indianapolis, IN. Growing up my mother worked in a factory, and my dad built his own construction business. I come from a blended family — my parents divorced when I was 10, and after my dad remarried, my sister and I gained three more siblings, making us the "Brady Bunch Five." Growing up that way taught me how to work hard, and it's a lesson that's stuck with me ever since.
I went to college in Rhode Island at Johnson & Wales University, earning a Bachelor's in Hospitality Management. From there, I spent several years at Nordstrom, working my way up to sales manager and trainer for the Men's Sportswear department, before starting my real estate career in 2005 — the same year my daughter Emma was born. Since then, I've lived in several towns across Virginia, including Virginia Beach, Lynchburg, Henrico, and Chesterfield. I have called Virginia home now for over 28 years.
